Eugenia (Gina) Christakos, RPh

Outpatient Pharmacy Manager

Learning Experience: Practice Management & Leadership, and Medical Mission

Gina received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Studies from University of Connecticut.  She is currently the the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager.  Her areas of interest include teaching, patient counseling and transitions of care.  In her free time, Gina enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and cooking.

Daniela Markelon, RPh

Learning Experience: Pharmacy Community Practice/Staffing and Transitions of Care I

Daniela received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Studies degree from Northeastern University. Her areas of interest include transitions of care in stroke patients, Long Acting Injectable Antipsychotic Clinic, and precepting. In her free time, Daniela loves going for walks and family vacations.

Paolo received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut. His areas of interest include transitions of care and medication therapy management. Paolo spent 5+ years in the cannabis sector, empowering patients to take a personalized approach in optimizing their health and wellness. In his free time, Paolo enjoys watching soccer, reading, and spending time with his loved ones.

Ann received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Studies degree from University of Connecticut. Her areas of interest include patient counseling, transitions of care, precepting and medication therapy management. In her free time, Ann loves to cook, garden, play tennis, and plan family vacations.

Katherine (Katie) Marti

Katherine (Katie) Marti, PharmD, BCPS

Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Specialist – Endocrinology

Katie received her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut and completed a PGY1 residency at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Following her residency, she joined Hartford Hospital as an inpatient clinical pharmacist covering critical care and general medicine units. She then transitioned to her current role as an ambulatory care pharmacy specialist in endocrinology. Her clinical interests include diabetes and chronic disease state management. In her free time, she enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Jonathan Blais

Jonathan Blais, PharmD

Anticoagulation Pharmacist

Learning Experience: Anticoagulation Clinic

Dr. Jonathan Blais received his PharmD degree from the University of Connecticut in 2022. He then completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Community Pharmacy residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. Dr. Blais currently runs the anticoagulation management service clinic at MidState Medical Center and is the preceptor for the anticoagulation learning experience. In his free time Jonathan enjoys playing volleyball, disc golf, and also spends his time trying to recreate his favorite food, a Chicago style deep dish pizza.

Colleen Teevan, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCCCP, FCCM

Dr. Colleen Teevan earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut in 2010. She went on to complete her PGY1 Residency at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Indiana and a PGY2 Critical Care Residency at Midwestern University in Chicago.

Dr. Teevan is currently the Pharmacy Clinical Program Manager for Hartford Healthcare. Prior to taking on this role, she was an ICU pharmacist within Hartford Healthcare and started the PGY1 residency program at The Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Dr. Teevan also serves on the Board of the CT Society of Health Systems Pharmacists and is actively involved in the Society of Critical Care Medicine and ASHP.

Amanda Volpe

Dr. Amanda Volpe received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Studies degree from St. John’s University in 1996 and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Medical University of South Carolina in 1999. She completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in the Bronx, New York in 2000 and is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy. Dr. Volpe has served in various clinical and leadership roles throughout her career, and founded the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at St. Vincent’s Medical Center where she served as Program Director until 2021. Her current practice is System Medication Safety Officer for Hartford HealthCare.
