Camaraderie propels teams in dragon boat races

Hartford HealthCare’s River Rollers and Wave Riders joined more than 70 teams at the annual Riverfront Dragon Boat & Asian Festival. The Wave Riders snagged second place their division and both teams gave a powerful display of teamwork, resilience and camaraderie.

“The laughter, encouragement and shared determination were our real victories,” said Amina Weiland, team coordinator. “We strengthened bonds, built trust and showed what it means to move the boat forward — together.”

In addition to the dragon boat races, Hartford HealthCare’s Asian Pacific Islander Colleague Resource Group and emergency medical services (EMS) teams hosted interactive booths and demonstrations at the event in Hartford.
